Stress is the reaction of the physical or mental parts of the body when too much work has been demanded from them. It might also be the response of the system in the change of certain routines that requires adjustment in either physical or mental aspects. Physical stress is oftentimes caused by using the body in doing strenuous activities. On the other hand, mental stressed is caused by extreme feelings and emotions such as when you are too frustrated, or when you feel depressed or anxious. In addition, there is also such thing as psychological stress which is caused by phobias, eating disorders, or compulsive behavior. People who are stressed experience a process wherein their bodies respond in a way that they release certain chemicals to the blood.

The most common sign of stress is when a person feels tired easily or when he experiences fatigue. Even though stress is merely a mild and temporary condition, it also has the tendency to affect a person in a way that one may lose the energy to perform tasks or even just move, feel sick, or makes them unable to concentrate. Also, it might lead to mental breakdowns.

If you want to feel energized all the time and, as much as possible, avoid getting stressed, try to consume the 8 stress busters.

  • Fish. Fishes are full of vitamins and minerals that enable them to be tagged as one of the stress busters. The oiliest ones, such as the mackerel and salmon, are the better options. They contain riboflavin, magnesium, Vitamin E, and zinc; all of which are very effective in breaking the feeling of being stressed. In addition, fishes also contain selenium. This chemical acts as a mood enhancer and it also comes along with anti-depressant properties. Moreover, omega-3 fatty acids can be availed through eating fish. These fatty acids also play a significant role in improving the overall health of an individual, as well as in lifting one’s mood. Aside from that, the omega-3 acids are also increasing the adrenaline levels of an individual, which disables him to become easily tired.

  • Dark Chocolate. A study that was conducted in a university has found out that dark chocolates have the ability to boost the energy levels of a person. It is for the reason that chocolates are able to improve and smoothen the flow of blood going to the main areas of the brain. This enhancement on such process would result on an increase in the energy levels. Through lifting the energy levels, a person will be able to perform more tasks without getting exhausted immediately. In addition, these chocolates are of big help in adjusting the imbalances and abnormalities of certain biochemicals brought about by stress. The probability of getting mental stress is also decreased because chocolates have the capacity to lower blood pressure and fight depression or anxiety. Moreover, it has been emphasized that the darker the chocolate, the more effective it would be for busting stress.

  • Black Tea. Teas, most especially the black teas, contain half of the caffeine a coffee has, but they provide the same soothing effect. The soothing effect that teas bring is very effective in relieving stress and lowering the blood pressure. Also, people who experience mental and psychological stress are advised to drink teas – either black or green – since it provides a calming effect; hence, any person who seems to have a heavy heart will be able to feel light. A study has also reported that drinking four cups of tea a day will result in a decreased level of cortisol, a stress hormone, and they feel more relaxed for longer periods of time. Aside from that, it has also been found out that black teas can boost the mood of a person and aid in raising one’s alertness.
