Change is an inevitable process. There are some things in life that we cannot control. There are things that can be prevented, others can be delayed but we cannot change the fact that we are still going to get old. Since it has been a given fact that people age, many people wanted to look and be forever young.

There had been a lot of therapies and modern technologies that offer the fulfillment of looking young physically - if not aging gracefully. But not all surgeries can hide the truth and we can't just live by going under the knife ever so often. There are also cosmetic products that have been able to aide in looking younger, lessening the signs of ageing such as the appearance of wrinkles, age spots and facial sagging.

However, ageing is not only evident in the physical aspect but also internally. Some of our body organs may give way because of ageing and that is why it is important to be careful with our body, not just with our physical attributes but wholly including the mental and spiritual aspects.

So here are 7 Healthy tips on how to age gracefully:

  • Eat Healthy

The most common advice that you would probably hear is to eat, eat and eat healthy foods. What you eat defines you - whatever you ingest reflects on your body. It is always better to choose a healthier option for your diet and it is better to start during the earlier years. You can go to your dietitian to have yourself a proper meal plan that is suitable for you. But basically, eat organic foods that naturally grown fruits and vegetables in farms without the use of chemical pesticides. Always include fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet and lessen your fat intake. Eating healthy means you can live longer since your body system has been fuelled well. In addition, take a dose of natural vitamins and minerals from the source itself and not just from the ones you get from bottles. This way, you are going for au natural.

  • Engage in Physical Activity

Do you like sports like playing tennis, basketball or volleyball at the beach? Or perhaps do you enjoy a brisk walk in the park or even enjoy a good afternoon run around the neighborhood? If yes, then you are doing well. Engaging in physical activity improves blood circulation throughout the body, thereby delivering proper oxygenation to your system. And also, this keeps your heart healthy as well as the mind and body. You can exercise at least 3 to 4 times per week, 30-45 minutes a day and already works wonder to your body and you feel better and great about yourself, not to mention enjoying the company of your friends and family.

  • Have a Positive Attitude

A positive mind goes a long, long way. Surround yourself with people that boost your confidence and morale. Avoid people that exude a negative vibe since it affects on how you work with things and how you treat other people as well. You will notice that having a positive attitude not only inspires other people to do as well, but you can see that you are less stressed about yourself and your life and also with the people around you. But if you are feeling kind of low, direct yourself to meditate (or do yoga) to find balance again or read books that are inspiring for you.

  • Think Young

Be a person who is always young at heart. Share the kid in you with other people and you will feel young. Feeling young and acting childish is two different things. Feeling young means you are happy with yourself and more care-free of the things of the world. Whereas, acting childish is being careless and irresponsible of how you treat yourself. Remember that being young is an attitude and it is not defined by age. So feel free and think young and it will reflect on how you look!

  • Practice Good Hygiene

To feel great, you must look great and at your best. Proper hygiene affects your overall health and physical appearance. Take a bath daily and brush and floss your teeth regularly since oral hygiene is correlated to preventing throat and heart problems. And also, being hygienic assures you to prevent, if not rid you off from probable infections. However, hygiene does not only apply to the body but also to the mind. Maintain a good mental health. Avoid worrying too much of things that you can't control since it exhausts your brain. Rather, do brain teasers instead and avoid memory gaps.

  • Sleep Well, Rest Well

Yes, after a long day of work or play, you need to rest. Having a good night's rest allows your body to rest as well, giving them time to regenerate for the following day. You need to have an average of 7-8 hours of sleep a day. Sleeping less than 7 hours may put you and your minds, as well as your mental health in danger. Studies show that having less sleep or no sleep at all can result to mental and physical problems. So to prevent such conditions, take a break from a hard day's work!

  • Balance is Key

In life, you have to know how to deal with things. Stress is one factor that can lead to premature ageing. And that is why, it is best that you know how to balance your life. Make time for yourself in order to be more revived and inspired to do greater. Try to balance not just your diet but practice including enough exercise - both mental and physical - to your daily routine.

Living life shouldn't be a complication. Being able to live each day is already a blessing and a gift. That is why you have to do your best and be great in everything that you do - including ageing gracefully. In conjunction to living healthy, there are also alternative natural home remedies than can help you and your skin as you age, helping you cut the cost compared to the ones being sold commercially in the market.

Best part is - you should celebrate and enjoy being you!
