Of all parts of the body, the skin has perhaps been given the most attention by anybody. Because of this, several skin care products are available in the worldwide market; some for the purpose of healing, some for the purpose of concealing. For some individuals, the first thing that is observed to determine if the person is healthy is the skin. No matter how one wears expensive clothes and jewelry, the skin will always speak of how healthy a person is. But having healthy skin cannot be easily done just by simply using any skin care products. Having healthy skin comes from within. When the cells that make up the skin is healthy then one is assured that the whole body is protected, that the body will be able to regulate the right temperature and that the sense of touch is toughened. But in order to have healthy skin, there are right foods to eat. Some of these foods are fruits that have shown to have specific effect on the skin’s health. Below are some of the fruits that are found out to be beneficial to the skin.

  1. Mangoes

Those suffering from pimple problems are often advised to include mangoes in their diet. Mangoes are rich in vitamins and minerals, including phytonutrients that are highly beneficial to skin health. Eating mangoes regularly can help in having fair complexion and soft and shiny skin. The beta-carotene found in mango actually makes the skin young looking. The fruit’s phytonutrients also helps in regenerating the skin cells, removing the dead skin and replacing new healthy cells. Moreover, mangoes can help in moisturizing the skin. Including mango in the diet not only assures having young-looking skin, but the whole body system is also protected from several diseases.

There are different types of berries and all of them offer wonderful health benefits to the skin. Strawberries, cranberries, blueberries and raspberries are the most popular berries known all over. Blueberries, which is rich in vitamins K and C just like tis cousins, acts as an effective antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. They are also great antimicrobial, eliminating the microorganisms that cause the skin infection. What is best about berries, particularly strawberries, is its salicylic acid content. It eliminates blackheads and whiteheads and the salicylic acid can penetrate deeply into the skin removing the dead skin cells effectively.

  3. Avocados

Called Alligator Pear by some because of its appearance, avocado is very rich in antioxidant that is truly beneficial to health. Avocado has high amounts of fiber, vitamin K, folate, vitamins C and B5, and potassium. Once having a bad reputation because of its high fat content, avocado was able to redeem itself when studies have shown that its fat is actually beneficial to one’s health. Avocado fat functions to prevent inflammation because it is mainly phytosterol and polyhydroxylated fatty alcohol, compounds known for their anti-inflammatory effect. Moreover, avocado has high amounts of phytonutrients that have antioxidant effect. Combining all these can prevent the person from developing cancers of the prostate gland, mouth and especially, the skin. Grapefruits, lemons, limes and oranges are some of the most popular citrus fruits in the world. And all of them are known to be beneficial for having healthy skin. It rides with the water in our blood and removes the free radicals that are harmful to the body. With reduced free radicals, the skin, which is usually the subject of high amounts of toxins as it is constantly subjected to the harsh effects of the environment, will become healthier. Vitamin C is also important in the production of collagen, the protein that strengthens the skin. Because of the fruit’s high antioxidant content, it helps enhance the healing process of the skin and helps prevent the appearance of wrinkles and the signs of aging. But aside from eating apple for the skin, it is also being used topically. In fact, several skin care products have apple as their main ingredient. Using pureed apple and applying it directly to the skin, skin is exfoliated and will benefit directly with the antioxidant in the fruit. Apple ciders are also popular, especially as a treatment of acne problems. Apple may also be used as a skin toner to get the firm looking skin.

Either the juice of the fruit or the oil coming from the hundreds of seeds inside the fruit has the best health benefits for any skin problems.
