Radiation exposure is something that we each experience on a day
to day basis, whether it is from natural or artificial forms of
radiation. Cell phones, x-rays, microwaves, TV sets, computer
monitors and smoke detectors are only a few of the common every day
electronics that exert radiation into our atmosphere and our homes
every time they are used. The sun is the largest and most natural
source of radiation we experience on a daily basis. Radioactive
elements are created by unstable atoms. These unstable atoms give
off energy as the nuclei begin to decay. If the energy from this
radioactive |
activity is strong enough to release electrons they can damage or kill
living skin tissue.
This type of radiation is known as ionizing radiation. Even if only one cell
within the body is exposed to radiation of this kind it can destroy or alter
the makeup of the cell and this can lead to the development of cancer. When
the cell’s DNA is damaged this can cause a genetic mutation that can be
passed down through many generations of offspring. The National Council on
Radiation Protection released the following breakdown of how radiation is
experienced in the USA today:
Radiation is measured through rem and it is stated that the average American
is exposed to about 360 millirem per year. It is important to note that our
bodies produce radiation as well, about 39 millirem per year. Did you know
that even flying across the USA you are exposed to 5 millirem of radiation
due to the high altitudes? This is the type of information every American
should know and understand.
The risk of dying from cancer created by radiation exposure increases by 8%
with every 10,000 millirem you are exposed to in a year. Besides the creation
of cancer cells, some of the symptoms of radiation exposure include:
There are many natural treatments and supplements you can take on a daily
basis if you think you are exposing your body to more radiation than it can
handle through your form of work or current living environment. Take a look.
- Calcium and Magnesium can be taken together to help prevent
your body from absorbing the radiation from the environment or
any other source.
- Coenzyme Q10 can be taken 100 mg daily and does its part to
protect the body from radiation. I recommend the company Jarrow
Formulas for high quality Coenzyme supplements.
- Kelp is a natural supplement that can be taken in supplement
form as it helps protect your body
against the effects of radiation. Nature's Way is a trusted and
reputable supplement source who produces a kelp supplement.
- Garlic is a strong stimulant for your immune system and
should
be taken 2 capsules, 3 times daily. Use Kyolic by Wakunaga of
America.
- Grape Seed Extract is known to be a powerful antioxidant. Take as directed.
- Vitamin C can help eliminate the free radicals within your
body that can harm your cells. This can be taken in dosages of
5,000-20,000 mg daily.
